Job summary

Petrotec is seeking a qualified engineer to lead testing and commissioning of electrical systems with hands-on HV/LV switchgear exposure up to 33 kV. The role requires deep knowledge of CTs, VTs, protection relays, ACBs/VCBs, VFDs, UPS, and transformers, plus experience in configuring and testing protection relays from multiple vendors.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily FAT/SAT activities, including testing, inspection, and commissioning.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot protection system faults and implement corrective actions.
• Review engineering drawings, relay settings, and technical documents.
• Prepare MOS, FAT/SAT procedures, test forms, and checklists.
• Coordinate with vendors, clients and stakeholders for smooth project execution.

The candidate should have comprehensive knowledge of electrical equipment and protection systems, including CTs, VTs, various types of protection relays, ACBs, VCBs, protection schemes, VFDs, UPS systems, and power transformers. Candidates are expected to have good experience in the configuration, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of protection relays from various vendors. They should also possess a good understanding of communication protocols such as MODBUS/RTU, IEC 61850, and other relevant industrial communication systems, along with strong technical and troubleshooting skills to independently execute testing and commissioning activities.
