JOB PURPOSE

The Department Manager supervises departmental floor activities to ensure efficient operations and compliance with the company's customer service standards. He/she is tasked with maintaining elevated standards of visual merchandising and store presentation, ensuring constant product availability, and achieving measurable results.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Greet customers and ensure that shop staff provide timely and quality service in accordance with established standards.
  • Ensure the proper implementation of company policies and procedures to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Control the merchandising of products to optimize sales while maintaining alignment with brand image and standards.
  • Monitor stock levels continuously, maintain inventories, and reorder merchandise as necessary to ensure adequate stocks and maximum availability of range and sizes at all times.
  • Manage department staff by establishing goals and objectives, overseeing performance management, and developing and motivating employees to achieve high levels of performance.
  • Conduct daily department meetings to ensure clear understanding and effective communication of activities, objectives, and events.
  • Provide on-the-job training, demonstrations, and instructions for existing employees to foster their development and maintain high standards of performance.
  • Specific to Multimedia: Plan and prepare the team schedule on a weekly basis, submitting it to the hierarchy for approval.
  • Specific to Multimedia: Implement up-selling and cross-selling strategies within the team to maximize sales volume and achieve set targets.
  • Specific to Multimedia: Conduct bi-annual performance appraisals for department staff.

Qualifications

LANGUAGE & TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • Fluency in English.
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
Specific Skills
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of shop operating procedures.
EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in a related field.

EXPERIENCE
General Experience

Five to seven years of experience in Retail, or a similar role.

Managerial Experience

Two years of experience in a managerial role.
