Job summary

Qatar Airways is seeking a Defect Control Engineer-Level II for its Line Maintenance Production Control team in Doha. You will monitor and manage deferred defects, provide in-depth technical recommendations to improve fleet reliability, and ensure airworthiness through adverse defect analysis and timely TSR/DD updates.

The role demands strong certifying experience, QCAA B1/B2 license, and 2+ fleet type authorizations, with close collaboration across engineering, planning, supply chain and MOCC.

Qualifications

• High School Qualification / Diploma with 5+ years of job-related experience
• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with 4+ years of job-related experience
• Minimum 5 years of certifying experience
• Degree or License in Aircraft Maintenance
• Minimum 2 type Authorizations in QR Fleet
• QCAA B1 or B2 License
• In-depth knowledge of company/regulatory procedures

Responsibilities

• Manage fleet Deferred Defects and ensure updates to quality before due date
• Provide troubleshooting recommendations after document reviews and reflect in TSR/DDs
• Analyze recurrent defects to prevent repeats
• Monitor fleet defects via OEM health platforms and propose rectifications via TSR
• Manage components on hold per policies
• Support Fleet manager with information and reports
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, Planning, and MOCC to initiate CRMs and maintenance slots
• Provide on-demand technical guidance during Doha AOG/OOS events
• Participate in daily production meetings (Morning Ops, delay defect reviews)
• Ensure compliance with legislative and company procedures
• Aim to achieve aircraft targets
• Comply with Safety Management System
• Perform other duties as directed by Head of Department

Education

High School Qualification / Diploma

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent

Degree or License in Aircraft Maintenance

Minimum 2 type Authorizations in QR Fleet
