Job summary

Starlink Qatar is seeking a Data Governance (Privacy & Security) Specialist to oversee privacy, protection, and governance across the organization. You will ensure regulatory and contractual compliance while supporting secure data management and privacy governance frameworks.

You will lead programs for risk assessments, data mapping, and training, coordinating with legal, compliance, and technical teams to implement controls and drive a culture of data protection and accountability.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Management, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
8-12 years of experience in data privacy, data protection, information security, governance and compliance, cybersecurity frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
Experience working within regulated industries, preferably healthcare environments.
Additional professional training or certifications in data privacy, governance, or information security is preferred.
Strong understanding of data privacy laws, protection, governance, and risk management.

Responsibilities

Ensure ongoing compliance with organizational policies, legal requirements, regulatory standards, and contractual obligations.
Monitor privacy, protection, and security regulations and update governance programs accordingly.
Conduct privacy impact assessments and evaluate risks related to data processing activities.
Implement, manage, and enforce information security controls for PHI and PII.
Develop and maintain data governance frameworks, standards, and data management best practices.
Provide expert guidance on privacy, data governance, and compliance to stakeholders.
