Job summary

Sofomation Energy seeks an experienced Corrosion Engineer for a long-term onshore position in Qatar. The role requires leadership in corrosion management, RBI familiarity, and high-integrity asset stewardship across oil and gas facilities.

The candidate should hold a Bachelor's in Metallurgical Engineering with 15+ years in the industry, including API 571 and API 580 RBI, and AMPP Senior Corrosion Technologist credentials or equivalent. On-site work schedule applies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant Oil & Gas experience.
• Knowledge of API 571 Damage Mechanisms and API 580 RBI.

• Metallic & non-metallic material selection and metallurgy.
• Corrosion principles, corrosion protection, and corrosion management.
• Pipeline inspection, maintenance, and internal corrosion control.
• Static equipment integrity and in-service equipment inspection.
• Cathodic protection and coating systems.
• Chemical injection, corrosion inhibition, and monitoring.
• Boiler and cooling water treatment; high-pressure sour service considerations.
• Material degradation, risk assessment, safety, and environmental compliance.

URGENT HIRING | LONG-TERM CORROSION ENGINEER
Location: Qatar - Onshore

Sofomation Energy is looking for an experienced Corrosion Engineer for a long-term opportunity in Qatar.

Work Schedule

8 hours per day | 6 days per week

Key Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in Metallurgical Engineering
Minimum 15 years of relevant Oil & Gas experience
API 571 Damage Mechanisms
API 580 Risk-Based Inspection (RBI)
AMPP Senior Corrosion Technologist or AMPP Senior Internal Corrosion Technologist

Required Technical Expertise:

• Metallic & non-metallic material selection, metallurgy, and material substitutions
• Corrosion principles, corrosion protection, and corrosion management
• Pipeline inspection, maintenance, and internal corrosion control
• Static equipment integrity and in-service equipment inspection
• Cathodic protection (CP) and coating systems
• Chemical injection, corrosion inhibition, and corrosion monitoring
• Boiler and cooling water treatment
• High-pressure sour service corrosion engineering
• Material degradation, risk assessment, safety, and environmental compliance

Preferred Knowledge

• NACE MR0175 requirements
• Offshore cathodic protection systems
• Pipeline internal corrosion control design
