Airswift is seeking a Senior Inspection Engineer in Qatar to support inspection, integrity, reliability, and asset management for oil & gas facilities. The role involves developing inspection strategies, coordinating RBI programs, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

The candidate will evaluate equipment integrity, contribute to RCFA investigations, support MOC processes, and interface with contractors and regulators to maintain safe, reliable operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Materials Engineering or related field.
  • API certifications in API 510, API 570 and/or API 653.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in equipment inspection and integrity assessment in oil & gas facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement inspection plans and strategies for static equipment and piping systems.
  • Coordinate and oversee RBI-based inspection activities.
  • Lead or support RCFA, incident investigations, and corrective/preventive actions.

Senior Inspection Engineer Location: Qatar Duration: 2 years with a possibility of extension Work schedule: Sunday - Thursday

Overview Seeking an experienced Senior Inspection Engineer to support inspection, integrity, reliability, and asset management activities for oil & gas operating facilities. The role will be responsible for developing and implementing inspection strategies, coordinating inspection programs, assessing equipment integrity, supporting failure investigations, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement inspection plans and strategies for static equipment and piping systems, ensuring compliance with applicable industry codes, standards, and company requirements.
  • Optimize inspection frequencies and inspection programs while maintaining equipment integrity and operational reliability.
  • Coordinate and oversee inspection activities using Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) methodologies.
  • Work closely with operations, engineering, maintenance, and project teams to assess risks and ensure safe and reliable operations.
  • Evaluate equipment integrity and provide technical recommendations for pressure vessels, piping systems, and associated static equipment.
  • Lead or support Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), incident investigations, and development of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support Management of Change (MOC), technical reviews, startup readiness activities, and lessons learned sessions.
  • Prepare technical specifications, scope of work, and tender evaluations for inspection and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) services.
  • Interface with inspection contractors, service providers, OEMs, engineering consultants, and regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor emerging inspection technologies and industry best practices to improve inspection effectiveness and asset reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with inspection programs such as pressure vessel inspection, piping inspection, pressure relief device inspection, and integrity management requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Materials Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in equipment inspection and integrity assessment within oil & gas operating facilities.
  • API certification in API 510, API 570, and/or API 653.
Required Experience & Technical Skills

Strong experience in equipment inspection, integrity management, and fitness-for-service assessments.

Knowledge of Risk-Based Inspection (RBI), corrosion management, damage mechanisms, and corrosion control.

Experience with pressure vessels, piping systems, and static equipment inspection programs.

Familiarity with NDT methods including:

  • Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
  • Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
  • Penetrant Testing (PT)
  • Radiographic Testing (RT)

Advanced NDT technologies

Knowledge of welding engineering and welding inspection practices.

Familiarity with international industry codes and standards.

Experience in remaining life assessment and fitness-for-service evaluations.

Exposure to incident investigation and root cause failure analysis.

Experience using Meridium or equivalent asset integrity/data management systems.
