Position Description: East West Digital (EWD) is seeking a Control & Resources Analyst based in Doha, Qatar. EWD develops and scales AI-driven Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and Platform solutions for the Energy sector, with a global reach, operating from Doha.
Reporting directly to the Control & Resources Manager (Financial Controller), this role provides hands-on internal operational and analytical execution across business control, management reporting, resource utilization, and HR processes monitoring.
The ideal candidate is an adaptable professional with a background in startups, scale-ups, or small tech companies who is up-to-date with modern digital tools.

The analyst will pair solid accounting and budgeting skills with practical ERP navigation, modern analytical tools, and agentic workflows to extract data, reconcile ledgers, track budget variances, support ERP evaluation, and prepare internal reporting packages for the Manager.
Primary mission: Support business control, management reporting, resource utilization, ERP data extraction, and HR process monitoring through accurate analysis and operational execution.
Key stakeholders: Control & Resources Manager, Operations & Finance, HR, project delivery teams, executive leadership, and corporate reporting stakeholders.
Employment type: Full-Time. Jobs to Be Done: The role is accountable for practical operational execution and analysis across accounting, budgeting, resource management, HR operations, reporting support, and process compliance.
Analytical Tools Modeling & Data Architecture (Excel among others): Build, maintain, and audit analytical models for budget tracking, variance analysis, project utilization, and operational forecasting using modern data tools, with advanced Excel as a central tool (dynamic arrays, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Power Query, advanced logic, and nested calculations).
Agentic Tools & Analysis Automation: Leverage exposure to agentic tools to assist in automated data extraction, preliminary variance checks, and accelerating routine analytical summaries.
Business & Financial KPIs: Execute data gathering, metric verification, and dashboard maintenance for company performance indicators under the direction of the Control & Resources Manager (Financial Controller).
Accounting & Ledger Reconciliations: Perform daily and monthly accounting cross-checks, reconciling operational delivery metrics with core accounting records (P&L line items, cost allocations, accruals, and revenue entries).
Budget Setting, Analysis & Monitoring: Prepare data inputs for annual and periodic budget preparation, track actuals vs. budget variances in structured spreadsheets and analytical dashboards, and assemble preliminary reporting schedules.
ERP Operations & Data Extraction: Serve as the hands-on day-to-day user for ERP environments; execute financial and operational data extractions, verify transaction codes and entries, run balance/variance reports, and reconcile entries against sub-ledgers across SAP and startup ERP tools.
Lightweight ERP Support & Evaluation: Provide structured operational user feedback, test feature workflows, and actively contribute to the evaluation and benchmarking of lightweight ERP systems for startups (e.g., Odoo, Zoho Books, NetSuite, Xero).
Capacity & Utilization Tracking: Track team capacity, project time logging, and delivery utilization rates across global client initiatives using structured tracking sheets and resource tools.
HR Process Alignment & Monitoring: Assist the Manager in documenting and monitoring day-to-day HR processes in alignment with corporate guidelines and local Qatar labor regulations.
Training Planning & Tracking: Maintain the schedule, track employee participation, and monitor completion metrics for company-wide training plans and compliance certifications.
People Operations Administration: Provide administrative support for onboarding and offboarding workflows, contractor records, and local labor compliance tracking.
Internal Reporting Package Assembly: Support the Control & Resources Manager (Financial Controller) by compiling, formatting, and validating internal operational and ERP datasets utilized by the Manager for corporate reporting.
Corporate Documentation Repository: Maintain day-to-day filing and audit-ready organization of the centralized corporate contract, policy, and compliance repository.
SOP Documentation: Draft initial outlines and updates for Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) covering resource workflows, ERP data entry rules, and operational reconciliations.
Data Privacy Adherence: Ensure day-to-day compliance with company data protection guidelines (including GDPR and local regulations) across administrative tasks.
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Operations, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred: Certifications or advanced training in accounting, finance, ERP systems, analytics, FP&A, business intelligence, or data tools.
Licences/Accreditations: Relevant SAP, ERP, Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or accounting accreditations are advantageous where applicable.
Approximately 5 years of relevant professional experience is expected, with demonstrated hands-on experience already working within Qatar.
The candidate should have experience in financial analysis, operational control, ERP navigation, accounting reconciliations, resource tracking, or business operations within startups, scale-ups, small technology companies, SaaS businesses, or similarly agile environments.
Years of experience: Approximately 5 years in finance, operations, business control, resource management, or analytical roles, including practical local Qatar experience.
Domain exposure: SaaS, technology companies, digital startups, energy-sector platforms, ERP environments, accounting operations, budgeting, and KPI reporting.
Leadership/ownership: Hands-on ownership of analytical models, reconciliations, reporting schedules, resource tracking, ERP extracts, and operational documentation under managerial guidance.
Skills and Competencies Must-haves include advanced analytical tools expertise, ERP management familiarity, accounting and budgeting foundations, local Qatar experience, and full professional English proficiency. Spanish is nice to have.
