Job summary

Airswift is seeking a Construction Superintendent (Electrical) for a major Oil & Gas operator. Position is site-based at Ras Laffan Industrial City, Qatar on a 36-month contract with a residential status.

The role entails leading safety and technical execution for electrical installations, aligning with project schedules, and coordinating with contractor teams. Offered as a residential contract with a 6-days-per-week, 10-hours-per-day schedule.

Qualifications

We are working with a Major Oil & Gas operator to source for Construction Superintendent (Electrical) on residential status to be based at site (Ras Laffan Industrial City). This is a contract role with initial duration of 36 months working on a residential basis with 6-days per week / 10 hours per day. Please see details below:

Job Details

Job Scope

Provide front line safety and technical leadership. Ensuring and assuring safe effective and efficient execution of Electrical installation activities in accordance with the project schedule and compliance to safety, quality and technical policies procedures and standards.

Key Accountabilities

• Reports to Utilities Area Construction Division Manager.
• Provide visible safety leadership ensuring a culture of care for people and safety-first approach is established.
• Ensure timely review and comment of related Electrical technical and project non-technical documents submitted by Contractor.
• Ensures all activities are undertaken in compliance with Company and contractually defined policies, regulations, and standards.
• Apply contractual acumen engaging with Contractors on schedule, technical and cost issues.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships and open communications with contractor and company functional teams (safety, quality, engineering, business).
• Attend activity planning and risk assessment meetings, assist contractor in identifying schedule mitigations and improvement.
• Ensure safety processes and standards are maintained by assuring Contractor completes daily and weekly walk-through of construction areas.
• Attend onsite workface planning and safety meetings and toolbox talks to ensure there is a clear understanding of the activities that are to be performed.
• Assure project schedule compliance by working collaboratively with Contractor identifying construction constraints and mitigation actions.
• Review of contractors daily weekly and monthly reports analysing performance and verifying progress and status.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Sciences or Engineering.
• 10 years' experience with Large Projects in Construction related disciplines (e.g., construction, installation, fabrication, execution, completion, hook-up, etc.) in the Oil & Gas Industry, including 1 year of experience in a supervisory role, including acting roles, or oversight of service/vendor personnel facilities.

Technical and Business Skills

• Experience with Oil and Gas companies, contractors, service companies, or heavy construction companies.
• Knowledge of design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria related to major fabrication, transport, installation, brownfield execution, and hook-up, as applicable to the project scope.
• Knowledge of offshore facilities and structures, onshore facilities, or yard operations as applicable to a project scope.
• Knowledge of execution methods and risks associated with sour gas and LNG production facilities.
• Experience working in large scale operating organizations in Operations, Projects, Subsurface, etc.
