Job summary

Al-Futtaim Automotive in Doha is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician for its Commercial Vehicles division. You will inspect, diagnose, maintain and repair heavy trucks and buses, following manufacturer standards and safety rules.

You will perform scheduled servicing, fault-finding with diagnostic tools, and repairs across engines, braking and electrical systems. You must read wiring diagrams, prepare repair estimates, and document work accurately.

Qualifications

• ITI or diploma in Automotive Engineering, Diesel Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, Auto Electrical, or related discipline.
• Hands-on experience servicing and repairing commercial trucks, buses, or heavy vehicles.
• Knowledge of modern vehicle electronics and CAN bus systems is an advantage.
• A valid driving license, where required for the position, is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled servicing, preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on commercial trucks and buses.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Carry out repairs to engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering, suspension, electrical systems and other components.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical manuals, repair instructions, and manufacturer specifications.
• Identify required parts and provide accurate information to support repair estimates and job completion.
• Record diagnostic findings, work performed, parts used, and additional repair requirements on the job card.
• Ensure all assigned work is completed within the agreed time and quality standards.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and the work area in a safe, clean, and serviceable condition.
• Follow workshop procedures and health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
• Report additional faults and potential safety issues to the Workshop Supervisor.
