Job summary

GIG Gulf is seeking an underwriting professional in Doha to coordinate issuance of new business, renewals, endorsements, and certificates for P&C lines. You will ensure timely delivery of policies and documents to clients and brokers, while addressing inquiries about coverage, premiums, and renewals.

You will maintain policy registers and support underwriting operations, ensuring strict adherence to guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Tertiary education is required.
• Professional insurance qualifications are an advantage.
• Basic understanding of general insurance principles.
• Familiarity with Motor, Property, Marine and Liability insurance is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Outlook.

Job description

Coordinate and execute underwriting operations and policy production as per Company’s guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and execute the issuance of new business, renewals, endorsements, certificates of all P&C commercial lines, ensuring accuracy and compliance with customer/broker agreements.
• Ensure timely dispatch and delivery of policies and related documents to customers/brokers.
• Respond to client and broker inquiries regarding policies, coverage, premiums, and renewals, delivering professional service within agreed timelines.
• Maintain accurate policy registers, operational trackers, and perform related administrative duties to support insurance operations.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Compliance to KYC process and liaise with the concerned for quick document delivery within agreed TAT
• Identify and escape risks or transactions outside personal authority limits to the relevant manager.
• Other operational / underwriting related responsibilities assigned by the manager from time to time depending on the requirements.

Operational & Technical Responsibilities:

Technical Skills

• Basic understanding of General Insurance principles.
• Knowledge of insurance products such as Motor, Property, Marine, and Liability Insurance is an advantage.
• Interaction with the various departments is required to ensure information received or required is collected accordingly
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Underwriting solutions based on pre-defined processes and procedures
