Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Qatar is seeking a BMS/LMV/DCP Operator to monitor and control HVAC and utility systems, ensuring safe and efficient operation of chilled water plants. You will analyze data, maintain logs, and coordinate with maintenance teams to optimize performance and energy use.

The role requires a 3-year Diploma in Mechanical/Process/Instrumentation Engineering with at least 5 years of plant operations experience, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Completion of Secondary Education (12 years).
• Three-year full-time Diploma in Mechanical, Process, or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Experience in mechanical or instrumentation plant operations (5+ years).
• Experience in oil & gas facilities, refineries, district cooling plants or similar environments preferred.
• Knowledge of chilled water production systems and HVAC equipment.
• Familiarity with safety interlocks, shutdown systems and plant procedures.
• Proficiency with BMS/SCADA and PLCs; strong computing and email skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate BMS, LMV, and DCP control systems daily.
• Supervise operation of chilled water plants, HVAC and utility equipment.
• Monitor parameters, alarms, trends to ensure efficient operation.
• Identify abnormalities and escalate to maintenance teams as needed.
• Operate safety, shutdown, and emergency control systems per procedures.
• Maintain accurate operational logs, reports and system records.
• Analyze data and provide improvements for performance and energy optimization.
• Coordinate with technicians during maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with client policies and safety standards.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and initiate corrective actions.
• Perform routine inspections and verify equipment status.
• Support preventive maintenance with operational feedback and history.
• Utilize computers, emails and reporting tools for communication.
