Job summary

Qatar Airways is seeking an Equipment Operator to manage the operation of light and heavy vehicles, including catering high-loaders. You will ensure timely loading and offloading of flights according to schedules and SOPs, maintaining the highest safety standards.

You are expected to follow airside safety rules, report defects, and coordinate with Transport for refueling and handover procedures. A High School qualification with 1 year of experience and English proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Must have at least a High School Qualification with minimum 1 year of job-related experience.
• Should have experience operating airline catering high-loader or hi-lift trucks or equivalent GSE (e.g., ambulift, belt loader, loaders/transporters).
• Must possess a home country trailer license or heavy-goods vehicle license.
• Familiar with the airside/ramp safety.
• Ideally with experience in operating hydraulic vehicles.
• Must have good communication in English language (spoken & written).

Responsibilities

• On-time dispatching of allocated flights as per the Airline specifications / galley loading plan (GLP) and Food Safety Standards.
• Follow speed limits and wear safety belt when driving light/heavy vehicles Airside/Landside.
• Align High Loader safely to Aircraft or Unit Docks.
• Place cones and chocks during aircraft marshalling.
• Check and report vehicle damage/defects on time to shift in charge.
• Load and off-load catering safely and as per customer specifications.
• Handover and sign off for vehicles to shift in charge.
