Job Description

The AGEMechanical Supervisor reports to the Mechanical Workshop Controller and is anexperienced and skilled mechanical supervisor, undertaking a range of detailed maintenance activities in the AGE bay demonstrating the ability to derivediagnostic mechanical techniques.

Thepost holder will be responsible for maintaining airworthiness throughappropriate task delegation and authorisation on the Mechanical AGE activities,and will be able to demonstrate awareness of broader external dependencies andidentifies areas for continuous improvement.

Core Activities
  • Undertakedetailed maintenance, inspection and supervision activities on the Mechanicalcomponents in the AGE bay. Assuring work carried out has been completed inaccordance with the SOW / Work package using the relevant approved technicalinformation. Resolving faults and maintenance issues, including an awareness ofconfiguration management
  • Undertakeand complete tasked maintenance & diagnostic activities of Mechanicalcomponents in the AGE bay which may include, as appropriate, componentremovals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications,replacements and/or functional/system test. Demonstrates a flexible andproactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities appropriate to the role andtakes direction appropriately
  • Maintainpersonal & teams task authorisation for working on AGE in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Ensure staff are sufficiently competent and approved for themaintenance tasks allocated to them. Maintain personal & teams taskauthorisation for working on components in accordance with AMC requirements
  • Undertakemechanical support tasks within the AGE bay facility which are required tomaintain compliance with the MOE and regulatory procedures (e.g. oversight checks,control of tooling / test equipment etc.)
  • Undertakefault evaluation and raise ad hoc work cards for ‘found faults’ duringmaintenance
  • Responsible for meeting agreed delivery targets in the short tomedium term through the supervision of others. Progress reporting againstdelivery targets to management.
  • LogBooks maintained as appropriate within your trade and skills boundaries.
  • Provides guidance and leadership to the team. Develops teammembers using formal assessment processes, e.g. Performance Reviews, supportsand sponsors training requests including ‘on the job training’. Demonstratessound and comprehensive communication and people management skills in order toexchange complicated information
  • Ensure timely Supervision of all maintenanceactivities including Technical Instructions related to Mechanical AircraftGround Equipment
Key Accountabilities
  • Performance indicators – Ensure the effectivemanagement of Regulatory activities by setting delivery targets, monitoringprogress and developing performance improvement programmes. Prioritisesactivities within/across teams to maximise efficiency. Responsible for theassessment of escalated issues for any impact on continuing airworthiness andgenerating effective resolution, or sponsoring escalation to management
  • Procedure/standards – Comply with the regulatory framework,its associated procedures and standards and any other company procedures andstandards, as applicable. Identify and propose changes, as required
  • Safety Management System – “Promote theapplicationof human factors, error management, risk management and safetyassurance within the Part 145 team, together with the proactive analysis,mitigation and management of hazards
  • Completion of Activities - Ensure allPart 145 activities are appropriately documented and airworthiness records aremaintained on relevant systems (IT / paper based). Ensure all Part 145activities are performed by suitably qualified, experienced and authorisedpersonnel. Provide support and guidance to the team
  • Management System Assurance – Ensure maintenance activitiesare compliant with the Governance and Assurance framework, including supportingProcess confirmations and independent assurance audits. Support the response toaudit findings in a timely and appropriate manner and provide information tosupport the relevant reviews. Support the implementation of identifiedimprovements to overcome any non-compliance and monitor effectiveness
  • Statutory/Regulatory & Legislative requirements – Ableto demonstrate an appropriate level of understanding and application of therelevant continuing airworthinessregulatory framework. Support the implementation of any regulatory drivenchanges into the maintenance activities. Ensure compliance with all otherrequirements, e.g. ITAR, EaPW, ISO
  • Contractual Requirements – Complywith all applicable contractual requirements.
Requirements
  • Requires a minimum of 2 years working at Supervisor levelprior to undertaking this role.
  • Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally inAeronautical Engineering or Military equivalent apprenticeship /qualifications. Academic qualification for this role is a minimum of City &Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent
  • Experienced and competent leader at this level.
  • Demonstrating breadth of experience, currency & recency capturingskills, knowledge and authorities
  • Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviationsafety standards and safe operating practices.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of Expositions, Functionally MandatedProcedures and Management training.

  • Human Factors, E&PW, ITAR & Fire TrainingAwareness
  • On the Job Training Instructional Techniques
  • UK Driving licence (driving in country to place of work will be required)
