Job Description

The AGE Electrical Supervisor reports to theMechanical Workshop Controller and is anexperienced and skilled supervisor, undertaking a range of detailed maintenanceactivities in the AGE bay demonstrating the ability to derive diagnostic electronictechniques.

Thepost holder will be responsible for maintaining airworthiness throughappropriate task delegation and authorisation on the electrical/ electronic AGEactivities, and will be able to demonstrate awareness of broader external dependenciesand identifies areas for continuous improvement.

Core Activity

• Undertaking detailed maintenance, inspection andsupervision activities on the Electrical components in the AGE bay. Assuringwork carried out has been completed in accordance with the work package usingthe relevant approved technical information. Resolving faults and maintenanceissues, including an awareness of configuration management
  
• Undertaking and complete tasked maintenance &diagnostic activities of Electrical components in the AGE bay which mayinclude, as appropriate, component removals, inspections, repairs,modifications, fault rectifications, replacements and/or functional/systemtest. Demonstrates a flexible and proactive attitude to carrying outresponsibilities appropriate to the role and takes direction appropriately
  
• Maintaining personal & teams task authorisation forworking on an aircraft AGE in accordance with regulatory requirements
  
• Ensuringstaff are sufficiently competent and approved for the maintenance tasksallocated to them. Maintain personal & teams task authorisation for workingon components in accordance with AMC requirements
  
• Undertaking electrical support tasks within the AGE bayfacility which are required to maintain compliance with the MOE and regulatory procedures (e.g. oversight checks,control of tooling / test equipment)
  
• Undertaking fault evaluation and raise ad hoc work cardsfor ‘found faults’ during maintenance
  
• Responsiblefor meeting agreed delivery targets in the short to medium term through thesupervision of others. Progress reporting against delivery targets to management.
  
• Maintaining apersonal Log Book to demonstrate currency and recency, on completion of On theJob training (OJT) activities, sign other personnel’s logbooks as appropriatewithin your trade and skills boundaries. If you are an approved designated assessor,undertake authorisation and task competency approvals, and check Pt 145 licenseapplication packs prior to submission
  
• Provideguidance and leadership to the team. Develop the team members using formalassessment processes, e.g. Performance Reviews, supports and sponsors trainingrequests including ‘on the job training’. Demonstrates sound and comprehensivecommunication and people management skills in order to exchange complicatedinformation.
  
• Ensuring timely Supervision of all maintenanceactivities including Technical Instructions related to electrical AircraftGround Equipment.
  

Key Accountabilities

• Performanceindicators – Ensure the effectivemanagement of Regulatory activities by setting delivery targets, monitoringprogress and developing performance improvement programmes. Prioritisesactivities within/across teams to maximise efficiency. Responsible for theassessment of escalated issues for any impact on continuing airworthiness andgenerating effective resolution, or sponsoring escalation to management
  
• Procedure/standards – Comply with the regulatory framework, its associatedprocedures and standards and any other company procedures and standards, asapplicable. Identify and propose changes, as required
  
• SafetyManagement System – Promote the application of human factors, error management, riskmanagement and safety assurance within the Part 145 team, together with theproactive analysis, mitigation and management of hazards
  
• Completion ofActivities - Ensure allPart 145 activities are appropriately documented and airworthiness records aremaintained on relevant systems (IT/paper based). Ensure all Part 145 activitiesare performed by suitably qualified, experienced and authorised personnel.Provide support and guidance to the team
  
• ManagementSystem Assurance – Ensure maintenance activitiesare compliant with the Governance and Assurance framework, including supportingProcess confirmations and independent assurance audits. Support the response toaudit findings in a timely and appropriate manner and provide information tosupport the relevant reviews. Support the implementation of identifiedimprovements to overcome any non-compliance and monitor effectiveness
  
• Statutory/Regulatory & Legislativerequirements – Able to demonstrate an appropriate level of understandingand application of the relevant continuing airworthiness regulatory framework. Support the implementation of any regulatorydriven changes into the maintenance activities. Ensure compliance with allother requirements, e.g. ITAR, EaPW, ISO
• Contractual Requirements –Comply with all applicable contractual requirements
  

Requirements

• Completionof an Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally in Aeronautical Engineering orMilitary equivalent apprenticeship / qualifications. Academic qualification forthis role is a minimum of City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in AeronauticalEngineering and Maintenance or equivalent
• Requiresa minimum of 2 years working at Supervisor level prior to undertaking thisrole.
• Experiencedand competent leader at this level.
• Demonstratingbreadth of experience, currency & recency capturing skills, knowledge andauthorities
• Practicalexperience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards andsafe operating practices.
