Job summary

TradesApp is seeking an experienced Accountant based in Qatar to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, monthly and yearly closings, reconciliations, and financial reporting. You will collaborate with internal departments, support audits, and help drive process improvements.

The role requires at least 5 years in general accounting, strong Excel and ERP skills, and fluency in Arabic and English. You will work independently yet coordinate with teams to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant General Accounting experience, preferably in Qatar.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end closing.
• Experience handling AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Native-level Arabic and English proficiency is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ledgers, and accounting documentation.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, provisions, and adjustments.
• Lead and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
• Manage and review AP and AR transactions.
• Perform bank, balance sheet, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Monitor cash flow, expenses, and financial transactions for accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and financial analysis.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control activities.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with internal departments to resolve discrepancies.
• Assist audits by providing schedules, reports and documentation.
• Identify discrepancies, investigate variances, and implement corrective actions.

The role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with internal departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ledgers, and accounting documentation.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, provisions, and adjustments.
• Lead and support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing activities.
• Manage and review Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) transactions.
• Perform and review bank, balance sheet, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Monitor cash flow, expenses, and financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and assist with monthly financial statements, management reports, and financial analysis.
• Monitor departmental expenses and support budgeting, forecasting, and cost‑control activities.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and applicable statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with internal departments to resolve accounting discrepancies and finance‑related matters.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required schedules, reports, and supporting documentation.
• Identify accounting discrepancies, investigate variances, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Contribute to improving accounting processes, controls, and reporting procedures.
• Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff where required.
• Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in General Accounting, preferably in a structured corporate environment in Qatar.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month‑end closing procedures.
• Experience handling AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
