Wind Turbine Service Technician

Job summary

Nordex in Portugal is seeking a field-based technician to support turbine maintenance and repairs. You will perform safe, on-site maintenance and simple repairs, analyse defects, and coordinate with the Service Coordinator.

You should be comfortable traveling regularly, including nights away, and be able to read English fluently. The role requires electrical and/or mechanical training, basic computer skills, and willingness to train further.

Qualifications

• Electrical and/or mechanical education.
• Experience with hydraulic, electrical, or mechanical systems is valued.
• Teamwork, collaboration and willingness to take over responsibility.
• Willing to travel on regular basis, including nights away from home.
• Computer literate, able to use MS Office and in house database and workload management systems.
• Readiness for training.
• Able to work in high altitudes and to climb everyday some of our turbine.
• Good English language skills (read, write and speak fluently).

Responsibilities

• Keep all health & safety related instructions and guidelines.
• Work safely for material and personnel.
• Analyse defects with phone-contact to Service Coordinator.
• Autonomously perform simple repairs of turbines, troubleshooting and faultfinding.
• Carry out planned maintenance/inspection activities with subcontractors.
• Fill in reports and checklists to inform Local Operation Manager.
• Check inventory of spare parts stock and be responsible for material on site.
• Monitor service reports and steer the service process to book expenses correctly.
