REQUIMTE – Rede de Química e Tecnologia invites applications for a Research Fellowship (BI) under the project SelfEnergyDriver. The fellowship focuses on synthesis and characterization of hybrid materials and the development of textile-based energy harvesting devices.

The candidate will work under LAQV-REQUIMTE at the University of Porto, starting in November 2026 for 6 months, with possible renewal. The program requires a Bachelor’s in Chemistry/related field, enrollment in a Master’s program,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Nanotechnology, or related field.
• Enrollment in a Master’s degree program in Chemistry or related field or non-degree coursework in collaboration with an R&D unit.

Responsabilités

• Synthesis of hybrid carbon-metal oxide materials and sol-gel polymers.
• Physicochemical characterization of prepared materials.
• Functionalization/coating of textile substrates and their characterization.
• Development of textile-based devices for energy harvesting and storage.
• Performance evaluation of the fabricated textile devices.

Formation

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry
