Job summary

Aethos in Ericeira is seeking a Food & Beverage Waiter/Waitress to join our restaurant team. You will be a host creating memorable experiences on the dining room, ONDA terrace, or pool bar, delivering attentive service and maintaining exceptional hospitality standards.

Ideal candidates bring 1–2 years in reputable hotel/restaurant settings, fluent Portuguese and English, and a proactive, team-oriented attitude. We offer a competitive base salary with a meal allowance and uniform provisioning.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years’ experience in a hotel or restaurant setting (preferred).
• Fluency in Portuguese and English is mandatory due to international guest profile.
• Ability to operate POS systems and digital ordering tools with ease.
• Natural host personality with empathy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Guest Engagement & Service: warmly welcome, seat guests, present menu, take orders, note dietary requests.
• Excellence in Service: deliver food and beverages promptly with high presentation and temperature standards across all dining areas.
• Mise-en-Place: pre-service duties, table setting, and station organization for all service areas.
• Billing & Operations: process bills via POS, manage settlements, follow HACCP and hygiene standards.
• Team Synergy: collaborate with bar, kitchen and FOH teams and participate in trainings.

We are looking for a passionate Food & Beverage Waiter / Waitress (m/f) to join our restaurant team. Here, you will not just be serving food and drinks; you will be a true host creating deep connections and unforgettable memories for our guests, ensuring that every interaction and service in the dining room, on the ONDA terrace, or at the pool bar is as breathtaking as the Ericeira horizon.

Key Responsibilities & Mission

• Guest Engagement & Service: Warmly welcome and seat guests with natural charm, enthusiasm, and professionalism. Present the menu, take orders accurately via the POS system, and immediately inform the kitchen and bar of any dietary requirements or special requests.

• Excellence in Service: Deliver food and beverages efficiently, attentively, and in a coordinated manner, ensuring the highest standards of presentation and temperature across all service areas (main dining room, ONDA terrace, or pool bar).

• The Art of Mise-en-Place: Meticulously carry out pre-service duties (cleaning, polishing, and setting tables, cutlery, and glassware) and maintain the organization of sideboards and service stations, preserving the aesthetic appeal and order of all F&B areas before, during, and after service.

• Smooth Operations & Billing: Process bills and handle table settlements through the POS system quickly and accurately. Adhere strictly to opening and closing routines, food safety guidelines (HACCP), personal hygiene, and uniform standards.

• Team Synergy: Work in close collaboration with the bar, kitchen, and front-of-house teams, actively participating in daily briefings and training sessions while fostering a positive, supportive work environment.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Experience & Technical Skills: Minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience in a reputable hotel or restaurant setting (preferred), alongside proficiency or ease in operating POS systems and digital ordering tools.

• Languages: Fluency in both Portuguese and English is mandatory (essential due to our international guest profile).

• Personal Attributes: A natural host personality with genuine empathy, strong attention to operational detail, agility, and a passion for customer service excellence.

• Attitude & Drive: Resilient with strong problem-solving skills under pressure, proactive, team-orientated, and possessing a commercial mindset with high technical standards.

• Flexibility: Full availability to work dynamic, rotating shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, with a strong sense of responsibility and punctuality.
