Job summary

Hitachi Rail Limited is seeking a Voice System Engineer to design radio solutions for national and international railway projects. You will formalise specifications, assemble design elements, and ensure release readiness, while coordinating subsystem development across architecture constraints.

Ideal candidates have telephony system design experience, WAN/LAN knowledge, and proficiency with VMs/ADs and MS Office. Travel availability is required as projects span multiple regions.

Qualifications

• Education & Qualifications: Telecom Engineer grade.
• 2-3 years experience in Telephony System design.
• Knowledge of Telephony Systems.
• Experience in Voice Recording System design.
• Knowledge of WAN/LAN networks (preferable).
• Experience with VMs and ADs (preferable).
• Experience in Telephony System T&C activities (Testing, Implementing and Customer Acceptance).
• Knowledge of Alcatel-Lucent Telephony Systems (advantage).
• High competency in Microsoft Office tools.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English.
• Availability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Formalise the specifications and engineering plans for the solution/product.
• Assemble solution elements to evaluate design, behaviour, interactions and performance while confirming requirements are fulfilled.
• Demonstrate that the solution meets requirements and is release-ready for production, testing, installation and support.
• Plan and coordinate subsystem development within architecture constraints to meet customer requirements and ensure design consistency.
• Serve as the project-wide technical interface; ensure interfaces are defined and consistent.
• Manage technical requirements in the domain.
• Provide technical expertise to design reviews with internal teams and customers.
• Perform IVVQ activities: configuration, verification, validation and FAT tests.
• Support onsite installation.

Job Description

At Hitachi Rail we are looking for a Voice System Engineer for national and international projects. The main objective of this role is to design radio solutions for the railway sector.

Tasks to be performed:

• Formalise the specifications and the engineering plans used to develop the solution /product.
• Assemble the solution/product elements in a logical and controlled manner to evaluate the design, behaviour, interactions and performance, and to confirm that the requirements against which the solution/product has been designed are fulfilled.
• Demonstrate that the solution/product satisfies the overall approved operational needs and that the product data package is ready for release to production, testing, installation and to operation and support.
• Plan and coordinate the subsystem development within the constraints provided by the agreed architecture and design in order to satisfy customer requirements and ensure global design consistency and company rules, processes and business objective.
• Act as the project-wide interface for technical matters in his/her domain. Ensure subsystem interfaces are defined, consistent, and complete.
• Manage Technical Requirements within his/her domain.
• Provide technical expertise to Design Reviews with internal teams (operational, maintenance, etc) and costumers.
• Perform IVVQ activities, including system configuration, system verification and validation, and FAT tests.
• Support onsite installation.

Requirements for the role

• Education & Qualifications: Telecom Engineer grade.
• Previous experience (2 - 3 years) in Telephony System design.
• Knowledge and practice in Telephony Systems.
• Experience in Voice Recording System design.
• Knowledge of WAN/LAN networks (preferable).
• Experience in working with VMs and ADs. (preferable)
• Experience in a Telephony System T&C activities (Testing, Implementing and Costumer Acceptance) (preferable)
• Knowledge of Alcatel-Lucent Telephony Systems (advantage).
• High competency in Microsoft Office tools.
• Fluent in Portuguese, English
• Availability to travel.
