Thales in Portugal is seeking a Verification & Validation Engineer in Oeiras to support critical defense and aerospace systems. You will develop and run test cases, track issues, and validate changes across disciplines, with FAT/SAT conducted on site.

The ideal candidate holds an engineering degree, has V&V experience for complex systems, enjoys documenting results in clear reports, has strong English, and is willing to travel to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Writing test cases to verify system requirements
• Tracking and validating the Problem Change Report (PCR) corrective actions, in coordination with various engineering disciplines and teams
• Carrying out validation tests, in coordination with customer representatives, during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) at the program’s relevant site
• Based on customer requirements, identify, specify, and document the system modifications needed to ensure compliance, supporting both architectural changes and leading system requirements
• Providing detail reporting of test results and briefing the Management Team and external Customer
• Liaise with project management and Design Authorities to ensure that all TopSky deployment work is completed within timelines and to standards
• Provide operational/functional support to end-users and internal engineering teams and resolving technical inquiries

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering (e.g. Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications)
• Experience in verification and validation of complex systems, preferably on the air traffic control domain
• Experience in preparation and executing tests: documentation, testing, problem analysis, defect reports, etc.
• Good command of English
• Availability to travel
