The Tor Project is seeking a UX Lead to manage and grow our design team, shaping user experiences across Tor Browser, Mullvad Browser, Tor VPN and Tails OS. You will lead end-to-end UX strategy and hands‑on design, aligning user needs with technical feasibility while fostering a collaborative, inclusive design culture.

You’ll mentor designers, establish UX standards and design systems, partner with Product, Engineering and Communications, and advocate for accessibility and privacy‑conscious

Qualificações

• 7+ years in UX or related fields.
• Experience leading UX across complex products.
• Experience maintaining design systems.
• Familiar with frontend tech incl. Android/Material Design 3 and Firefox.

Responsabilidades

• Manage a team of designers, and lead end‑to‑end UX strategy and execution across web and software products.
• Set team goals, prioritize work across products and allocate design resources.
• Provide regular 1:1s, mentorship, feedback and coaching to support the team’s growth.
• Build and sustain a healthy team culture, grounded in openness, collaboration and learning.
• Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Communications teams to shape product direction early.
• Champion accessibility, inclusive design, and privacy‑conscious product experiences.
