Uber Eats was launched in Portugal in November 2017 and is the most used Delivery platform in Portugal. We are available in 100+ cities, delivering from over 12,000 stores (restaurants, groceries and stores) and still growing quickly!

As User Operations Manager, you will be responsible for improving the experience of our Users in our many Portuguese cities, and finding opportunities for us to continue to grow in those cities. For that, you'll be responsible for conducting analysis to better understand our geographies, develop project plans to drive growth, work with our Commercial, Operations and cross-functional teams to drive change for those cities and get your hands dirty by executing plenty.

You will work closely with the rest of our Operations team, and drive alignment across several teams, including local Acquisition and Account Management teams, Regional Operations or Finance.

This role calls for a combination of analytical skills, business acumen, stakeholder management and creativity. We operate in a fast paced environment, so we are looking for a highly adaptable candidate who is able to work on longer-term strategic initiatives while addressing our short-term issues at the same time.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze data: With the help of Uber's rich dataset, you will supervise market performance, understand our customers' challenges as well as the specific issues of certain cities, and look for ways to improve it. You will build analytical frameworks and tools to maintain a close control over the business and collect insights
  • Project management: Develop cross-functional project plans to drive meaningful improvements and prioritize them, maintaining a combination of own execution and oversight/support to other projects
  • Stakeholder management: Be close to other teams, including Acquisition, Account Management teams, Regional Operations, Finance, Communications or Marketing
  • Strategy definition: Develop the strategy for certain aspects of the User operations vertical and for our cities, finding areas of improvement on User acquisition and engagement, sizing opportunities and implementing highest impact projects.
  • Build & Optimize scalable Process & Tools: Identify improvement opportunities and define action plans to address those. Work with Global teams to launch solutions and adapt those to the local market. Built the right tools for our teams in the field.
Basic Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years in analytical roles; background in a growth role in a fast paced startup or in operations management, management consulting, investment banking or strategy work in a large business preferred
  • A BSc or MSc in a quantitative field, such as economics, mathematics or engineering
  • Analytical & critical thinking and experience with data-driven decision-making, ability to deal with data (reports, experiments, pricing models) and exercise good judgment in ambiguous circumstances and effectively communicating across a complementary team
  • Business acumen, ability to seize and prioritize opportunities based on feasibility and potential
  • Executor with bias for action and a proactive personality with ability to take initiative in a constantly changing work environment and adopt a generalist do-what-it-takes mindset
  • Creative 360 thinker: you are able to think outside the box and come up with new approaches and initiatives to reach ambitious growth targets
  • Excellent excel skills
  • Proficiency in English and Portuguese

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SQL is a plus, or comfortable learning and using new software tools
  • Industry knowledge in the on-demand / same-day delivery space
