Job summary

Sovos is hiring a Tech Lead for TechOps & Infrastructure in Portugal. You will mentor engineers, shape platform reliability, and scale cloud-native systems across a global compliance network.

You bring hands-on DevOps/SRE expertise, cloud architecture, and experience with Terraform, AWS, and Kubernetes. Expect leadership, collaboration, and a strong focus on production-grade security and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Equivalent of a Bachelor's degree through work experience, certifications, or formal education.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and coach SREs and infrastructure engineers, fostering rapid execution and continual learning.
• Partner with software teams to define SLIs, SLOs, and operational standards for production readiness.
• Lead design, provisioning, scaling, and deployment of cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes clusters, on-premise VMs, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Advocate for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and robust observability; conduct peer reviews of deployment manifests and architecture proposals.
• Define and maintain infrastructure specifications, disaster recovery plans, and runbooks; coach the team in adoption.
• Integrate reliability practices, automated infrastructure testing, and incident response across the platform.
• Leverage AI tools to improve automation workflows, incident analysis, and infrastructure optimisation.
