The Role

The Team LeaderReconciliation & Investigationwill be responsible for :

  • The processing of cash & securities Reconciliation & Investigation.
  • The supervision and controls of the processes.
  • The management of the Reconciliation & Investigation team.
  • Ensuring that the services delivered to the Azqore clients are most efficiently and productively performed.
  • Working closely with his/her colleagues to provide clients with technical expertise and solutions, in a comprehensive, timely and accurate manner.

But here’s the exciting part:you’ll be helping launch this activity from scratch in Lisbon, working closely with our experienced team in Switzerland.

The role will be based in Lisbon, Portugal (Av. Dom João II 43, 1990-084 Lisboa, Portugal).

Your responsibilities

Daily BAU

  • Successful applicant will be responsible for the management of Cash & SecuritiesReconciliation and Investigation.
  • Ensure operational efficiency and excellence and maintain low levels of operational risk.
  • Acts as the point of escalation for European clients on all cash and securities reconciliation and investigations queries, concerns or issues.
  • Perform cash & securities reconciliation.
  • Investigate, assigned and follow up the cash and securities breaks.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure date accuracy.
  • Analyze internal requests received by the front office /the middle office and the requests received by the third parties (through MTN95/96/99)linked to the cash transfer activity (incoming and outgoing payments).
  • Prepare detailed reports and documents (KPI, statistics etc..).
  • Support audits and compliance checks related to cash and securities reconciliation.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and secure the processes.

Others

  • Leads Azqore Operations projects and initiatives, where necessary.
  • Drive cross border collaboration and strengthen communication channels between the Swiss and Portugal teams.
  • Enhance client service standards within the team, and consequently the client ratings of the function. Propose/identify value-add solutions which can impact profitability.

  • Ensure that the controls performed by the team adhere to the procedure, with a focus on ISAE-audit related controls
  • Develop strong escalation and risk awareness skills in the team.

Technical Skills/ Product Knowledge

  • Demonstrate an excellent knowledge of reconciliation tools andthe S2i core banking system, as well as Azqore, including its vision, objectives and culture, and leverage this in interactions with the clients.

Change Mindset & Emphasis on Quality

  • Ability to demonstrate a change mindset and challenge status quo
  • Demonstrate and cultivate a process excellence mindset and awareness within the team

People Management

  • Cultivate habits around the Azqore management charter
  • Ability to engage, influence and lead the Portuguese Reconciliation & Investigation team to achieve Operations/company goals

Other

  • Fluency in English and French
  • At least a Bachelor degree (preferred Master degree), preferably in Accountancy, Banking & Finance
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in Reconciliation & Investigationand at least 3 years of people management experience
  • Excellent communication skills; Ability to collaborate, especially cross border
  • Rigorous and results oriented
