Vestas is seeking a Project Leader in Porto, Portugal to cover supplier scope across the MED region. You will monitor tower manufacturing with external subcontractors and drive on-time delivery while maintaining safety and quality targets.

The role requires strong project management, planning and coordination skills, plus fluency in English. This hybrid position involves travel up to 30% and collaboration with global teams across supply chain to optimize tower production and supplier performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in project management, planning and coordination.
• Understanding of production setup activities, planning, execution and process implementation.
• Familiarity with business systems and operational processes.
• Pragmatic, practical, solutions-focused mindset.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Responsabilités

• Ensure tower manufacturing in assigned factories is completed on time, fulfilling Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost targets.
• Coordinate outsourced manufacturing of wind towers in the MED Region.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across supply chain from Material Purchasing to tower production and delivery to customers.
• Ensure towers are ready in accordance with demand plans.
• Coordinate resources with all stakeholders to avoid delays.
• Focus on risk mitigation and communicate to key stakeholders and leadership.
• Support development of new subcontractors for tower production within the MED Region.

The Towers Supply Chain Optimization & Supplier Management team is responsible for delivering wind towers on demand and of the highest quality through subcontracted activities globally.

Our team is looking for a Project Leader to cover supplier scope in the Mediterranean (MED) region and monitor and control tower manufacturing and execution with external sub-contractors. The Project Leader will work as an effective catalyst between various functional departments and Business Units of Vestas across the globe to carry out internal & external projects effectively.

Responsibilities

• Ensure tower manufacturing in assigned factories is completed on time, fulfilling Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost Targets
• Coordinate outsourced manufacturing of wind towers in the MED Region
• Cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders of towers through the supply chain (from Material Purchasing to tower production and delivery to customers)
• Ensure turbine towers are ready in accordance with demand plans
• Ensure resource availability with all stakeholders to coordinate projects without any delays
• Focus on risk mitigation of key risks in the project cycle, including appropriate communication to key stakeholders and the management team
• Support the development of new subcontractors for tower production within the MED Region

Qualifications

• Degree or background in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field, with knowledge of steel manufacturing processes
• Experience in project management, planning and coordination
• Understanding of production setup activities, including planning, execution and process implementation within large organizations
• Familiarity with business systems and operational processes
• Pragmatic, practical and solutions-focused mindset
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken

This is a hybrid position based in Porto, Portugal and requires up to 30% of travel per year. Please note: Applicants must be authorized to work in Portugal.
