Sibelco Rio Maior site is seeking a Supervisor Production to oversee daily operations, drive safety, quality and efficiency, and coordinate with the Sales department on specifications and budgets.

You will lead a production team, monitor adherence to permits, optimize processes, and develop a yearly plan with local authorities, while ensuring on-time delivery and cost control.

• Oversee a production team including subcontractors and ensure activities stay within budget.
• Coordinate with the production scheduler to meet the production schedule and plan.

• Mentor and develop team members to enhance collaboration and growth.

Job Description

Your Impact in this role

Supervise, optimize and continuously improve the production activities in the site together with other disciplines, taking into account the local regulations, rules, the permits, the predetermined cost budget according to the specifications as determined with the Sales department.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the production activities in the site and ensure the activities are performed in a safe and healthy way. Ensure the production team, both own employees and subcontractors, perform their activities considering safety and healthy as the highest priority. Motivate people to report unsafe/unhealthy behaviour/issues. Ensure exploitation according to the rules as set in the permits and develop a yearly workplan to be approved by the local authorities. Control the activities are performed within the predefined budget and alert the sales team on time when problems arise.
• Supervise the Production activities in the Site according to the Operational Excellence principles.
• Ensure activities are performed according to the production schedule. Work with the production scheduler. Align with production scheduler and if needed with production manager/operations manager when problems arise and/or the production schedule cannot be met.
• Strive to the optimal balance between customer demands and specifications in relation to quality, quantity, efficiency and cost.
• Motivate and evaluate the team members to enhance team collaboration and support their individual development and growth.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Industry knowledge. Practical understanding of industrial mineral industry.
• Product & Market Knowledge. Broad breadth and depth knowledge of Sibelco processes, products and markets.
• Safety. Knowledge of Sibelco's safety regulations and ensures activities are in compliance with those regulations.
• People Skills. Efficient and clear communication and be Able to motivate the team.
• Behavioral skills. Open minded, Team player, Pro‑active, Able to work independently, Leadership, Self‑motivated.
