Anova is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to own software end-to-end on the R&D Software Team, building a real-time data platform from the ground up.

The role is remote-friendly with occasional in-person work at the Porto office, reporting to the Digital Integration Director. You will design and deploy backend services and data pipelines for IoT telemetry, apply AI-assisted development, and raise engineering quality through best practices.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or another quantitative or scientific field
• 5+ years in software engineering or a closely related role, including hands-on production deployment; PhD counts toward experience
• Strong Python and engineering habits: git, code review, linters, unit tests, and CI/CD
• Strong analytical ability and fluency with statistics
• Solid SQL and experience with data at scale (pandas, PySpark, Databricks, Snowflake, Postgres)
• Experience operating software in production: deployment, monitoring, alerting
• Fluency with agentic coding tools
• Fluent in written and spoken English

Responsabilidades

• Own projects end to end from greenfield state to production
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales and Marketing to translate business goals into software
• Make technical decisions and contribute to implementation in a hands-on role
• Build backend services and APIs for real-time telemetry platforms
• Design and run data pipelines including forecasting and anomaly detection
• Handle sensor data challenges and provide statistical interpretation
• Run and maintain instrumentation, alerting, and operational practices
• Use AI-assisted development tools and ensure code quality and governance
• Mentor and elevate teammates via code reviews and design discussions
• Translate technical trade-offs and uncertainty into actionable decisions
