FOSSA Systems in Lisbon seeks a software engineer to support activities at Portugal office. You will participate in development of software applications, from tools to test or provision hardware to operational tools for satellite constellations.

You will design and implement end-to-end software, focusing on scalability for IoT solutions, REST APIs, Python scripts, and data storage with MongoDB and InfluxDB. English proficiency and ability to work in a team are essential.

Qualificações

• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on Python scripting experience.

• Familiarity with Linux, Docker and GitHub workflows.

Who are we looking for?

We are actively looking for a software engineer or similar to support the activities at the Portugal office in Lisbon.

At FOSSA we develop, manufacture and validate multitude of software applications. From tools to test or provision hardware to operational tools for control of satellite constellations, among others.

You will participate in the different stages of the development cycle for IoT solutions, with a special focus on the user segment, ensuring efficient and scalable IoT applications that enhance connectivity and usability.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop efficient, scalable, and user-friendly end-to-end solutions for both front-end and back-end systems.
• Design, implement, and maintain REST APIs.
• Program Python scripts for various tasks and functionalities.

Profile

• Demonstrable experience or personal projects.
• Solid understanding of REST API design and implementation.
• Experience with MongoDB and influxDB.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being capable of working independently and taking initiative when necessary.
• Full professional proficiency in English.
• Experience with Linux, Docker, GitHub, and automation/deployment in server environments.
• Familiarity with IoT protocols and communication standards.
• Demonstrable interest in the space sector.
• Experience with personal or self-initiated development projects.
