We’re looking for an experienced and technically capable Software Development Manager to lead one of our agile development teams. What we are looking for…

We’re seeking a hands-on leader with strong software development expertise and team management experience. You’ll be responsible for overseeing the full software development lifecycle, from design to deployment, and ensuring high standards in delivery, performance and maintainability.

This role is based in Porto.

Key responsibilities of the role…

Leadership & Management:

  • Line manage and mentor a team of software developers.
  • Complete performance reviews, development plans and recruitment activities.
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies and continuously improve team processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Product, QA, and Operations.

Software Development:

  • Ensure high-quality, bug-free releases that meet customer requirements.
  • Contribute to architecture discussions and technical design documentation.
  • Write automated tests and ensure testing coverage across features and edge cases.
  • Drive innovation and improvements in code quality, performance and scalability.
  • Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
  • Maintain a strong awareness of emerging technologies and best practices.
  • Lead retrospectives and act on feedback to enhance team effectiveness.

About you…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a STEM field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in leading software development teams.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies, DevOps practices and software architecture.
  • Comfortable working closely with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), NoSQL databases and application security is desirable.
