ZF LIFETEC is expanding its Ponte de Lima Plant with a Smart Factory Engineer in the Manufacturing Engineering area. You will implement and configure production IT systems, optimize MES configurations, and develop OCR and machine vision solutions for quality inspection.

This is a temporary replacement position requiring a technical background and international collaboration. The role demands 3+ years of hands-on experience in production IT control, strong English and Portuguese communication,

Qualificações

• Academic degree in technical field or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience implementing, developing, and configuring IT control and management systems for production processes.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese.
• Knowledge in Python and data analysis tools.
• Understanding of AI concepts and programming.
• Knowledge in robots programming.

Responsabilidades

• Implement, develop, and configure all products/projects in the production process.
• Minimize downtime in the production process by following escalation procedures for unresolved issues.
• Configure MES according to client specifications and team standards.
• Provide technical support to users in using MES.
• Document MES processes/projects in launch phase and serial production.
• Manage and resolve incidents within area of responsibility.
• Propose improvements to procedures and processes when identified.
• Development, implementation, and optimization of OCR systems.
• Development and implementation of machine vision systems for quality inspection and automated defect detection.

Smart Factory Engineer

Temporary replacement.

• Implement, develop, and configure all products/projects in the production process.
• Minimize downtime in the production process by following escalation procedures for unresolved issues.
• Configure MES according to client specifications (internal and external) and team standards.
• Provide technical support to users in using MES.
• Document MES processes/projects, in launch phase as well in serial.
• Manage and resolve incidents within their area of responsibility.
• Propose improvements to procedures and processes when identified.
• Development, implementation, and optimization of Optical Character Recognition (OCR) systems.
• Development and implementation of machine vision systems for quality inspection and automated defect detection.

Your profile

• Academic degree in technical field or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in implementing, developing, and configuring IT control and management systems for the production processes.
• Good understanding of relevant products & manufacturing processes.
• Very good oral and written communication skills.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese.
• Ability to identify problems and propose improvements.
• Database knowledge (SQL, TSQL, PLSQL, Oracle).
• Skills in label development and design (ZPL II, Cab).
• Understanding of AI concepts and programming.
• Knowledge in Python and data analysis tools.Knowledge in VB.NET and Visual Studio.
• Desired knowledge in robots programming.
• Comply with and maintain IATF16949:2016, ISO9001:2015, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 systems related to the workplace.
