About the Company

EXERGY are the developers, engineers and producers of Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) systems, with the innovative, pioneering Radial Outflow Turbine. ORC systems are used for power production from renewable energy sources, including biomass, solar, geothermal energy and waste heat recovery. EXERGY undertake the development and manufacturing process of the ORC turbine and plant internally. This includes R&D, testing, engineering, project management and after-sales service. About the Role

For our geothermal power plant in Portugal we are looking for a Site manager that will manage and supervise all site construction works related to the Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) system and geothermal pipelines at the Ponta Delgada geothermal project. The Site Manager ensures site activities are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, and HSE regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee all mechanical works including:
    • ORC plant installations (turbines, heat exchangers, condensers, pumps, auxiliary systems).
    • Geothermal pipelines (steam, brine, reinjection, condensate, pipe supports, expansion systems).
    • Mechanical auxiliaries (valves, fittings, insulation, hydrotesting, painting/coating).
  • Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring works are executed per approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
  • Align sequencing of mechanical works with civil and electrical disciplines to avoid clashes and delays.
  • Review and monitor installation procedures, welding and NDT reports, ensuring compliance with ASME, EN, and ISO standards.
  • Organize and control pre-commissioning activities (flushing, pressure tests, alignments, cleaning).
  • Lead daily site coordination meetings with subcontractors and site teams.
  • Manage documentation (ITPs, inspection reports, red-marked drawings, daily/weekly progress reports).
  • Ensure strict adherence to HSE rules and lead toolbox talks, risk assessments, and safe work permits.
  • Liaise with QA/QC, consultants, and client representatives to obtain approvals and inspections without delay.
  • Provide technical guidance to resolve on-site issues promptly.
  • Support planning with inputs on manpower, equipment, and material needs.
  • Report progress, risks, and deviations to the Construction Manager.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 7–10 years in site supervision and management of mechanical works, preferably in geothermal, power plants, or large industrial projects.
  • Proven track record in pipeline erection and ORC/power generation equipment installation.
  • Experience in welding supervision, NDT, hydrotesting, and mechanical commissioning.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, and GA drawings.
  • Familiarity with ASME, EN, ISO standards relevant to pipelines and power plant installations.
  • Knowledge of welding procedures (WPS/PQR), NDT techniques, hydrotests.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent coordination and communication with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proactive problem solver, result-driven, and resilient under pressure.
Required Skills
  • English: Fluent (spoken and written) – mandatory.
  • Portuguese: Advantage.
