Bosch is seeking a candidate for a focused research role in Portugal to study SIP modules and their failure modes under thermal-mechanical loads. You will understand how material/design combinations interact and how manufacturing parameters, especially reflow, influence reliability.

Responsibilities include literature review, data collection from Bosch plants, and applying MBE to guide design decisions; you will propose manufacturing solutions and use simulations to support load-path decisions,

Qualificações

• Academic background in Mechanic or Materials Engineering.
• Advanced knowledge on material properties and thermal-mechanical damages.
• Experience in experimental design and data analysis with statistical treatment.
• Analytical mindset for complex physical phenomena and strong communication skills.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Responsabilidades

• Understand failure mechanisms under thermal-mechanical loads.
• Assess interactions between different material/design combinations.
• Evaluate manufacturing impact with focus on reflow process.
• Create design rules for SIP components to mitigate failures.
• Use simulation tools to support load-path decisions.
• Review literature and Bosch SIP documents; collect data from Bosch Plants.
• Apply Model Based Engineering (MBE) for thorough thermal-mechanical analysis.
• Propose design elements and manufacturing solutions; use simulations to predict outcomes.
