Job summary

Kake is a remote-first company with a global community of senior engineers. We seek Senior Software Engineers skilled in Node.js and React, capable of building scalable systems for millions of users, and delivering end-to-end features with solid architectural judgment.

You will collaborate with product and design to ship reliable software, contribute to API design, data modeling, and system architecture, and work in a remote, fast-paced environment with strong English communication.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Hands-on in Node.js and React
• Designing and versioning REST or GraphQL APIs
• Experience with CI/CD and cloud infrastructure (GCP/AWS/Azure)
• Strong system-design instincts: data modelling and architecture
• Proficient in relational databases and SQL; familiar with NoSQL

Responsibilities

• Build and ship production features end-to-end across Node.js backends and React frontends.
• Design and version REST or GraphQL APIs that serve as the contract between frontend and backend.
• Make architecture decisions around data modelling, service boundaries and component design.
• Model and query data across relational and NoSQL stores and choose appropriate databases.
• Write clean, well-tested code and instrument observability for live systems.
