Wärtsilä Corporation in Esposende, Portugal is seeking a Service Engineer Mechatronic to support customers by performing maintenance, fault diagnostics, and commissioning of electrical and automation systems across Portugal and internationally.

The role requires a strong background in electrical engineering or automation, PLC experience, and the ability to work independently in field environments with good English communication.

Responsabilidades

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical and automation systems.
• Support customers on-site and remotely across Portugal and internationally.
• Carry out commissioning, testing, and system adjustments.
• Diagnose faults and identify root causes in complex E&A systems.
• Prepare detailed service and technical reports; ensure safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams and support customer communication on-site.

We are looking for a proactive, hands-onService Engineer Mechatronic to join our Mediterranean Services team.

The preferred location for the position is in Esposende (Portugal), but also considering from North & Central of Portugal.

The successful applicants must be authorized to work in Portugal without sponsorship.

Your role and responsibilities

As a Service Engineer Mechatronic, you'll play a key role in supporting our customers and delivering high-quality service solutions. Your responsibilities will include:

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical and automation systems
• Support customers on-site and remotely across Portugal and internationally
• Carry out commissioning, testing, and system adjustments
• Diagnose faults and identify root causes in complex E&A systems
• Prepare detailed service and technical reportsEnsure work is performed in line with Wärtsilä safety and quality standards
• Collaborate with internal teams and support customer communication on-site

What you bring

• Background in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or similar
• Experience with industrial automation systems and PLCs
• Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical and control systems
• Good knowledge of networks, drives, and automation components
• Ability to work independently in field environments
• Good communication skills in English

Nice to have

• Experience in marine or power plant environments
• Knowledge of diesel and gas engines
• Experience with commissioning activities
