About the role

As a Senior Technical Writer at Dremio, you will be joining a team of dedicated and passionate individuals guiding our Data Lakehouse customers to success with Dremio. You should be focused and enjoy working with subject matter experts in various roles. You should be an expert builder who is comfortable working in a dynamic and fast paced environment, and have an entrepreneurial spirit. To succeed in this role, you should have a technical background in data engineering, data science, and/or business analytics. Each Technical Writer focuses on a specific Dremio Persona and this role focuses on the Dremio Platform Engineer. If you\'re passionate about quality documentation, see it as an integral part of the product experience, and care deeply about empowering Data Lakehouse Platform Engineers, this could be the perfect role.

What you\'ll be doing

• Collaborate with Product Managers to best represent Dremio\'s platform capabilities and create the optimal docs experience for the Platform Administrator.
• Document new features in collaboration with the Product Managers and Engineering teams.
• Peer review documentation and UI text for different areas of the product.
• Own the authoring, review process, quality and feedback loop for documentation specific to the area of the product you are responsible for.
• Collaborate with other writers to propose changes to the overall documentation site, information architecture, and/or infrastructure to enhance both the external user\'s experience and the internal team\'s experience.

What we\'re looking for

• 7+ years of experience as a technical writer for Cloud Based Enterprise Applications including Using Command Line to manage branches and interaction with GitHub Repository.
• Using JIRA for request, task and writing management as well as review process.
• 3+ years of experience Writing about Big Data, Cloud technologies, and databases.
• 3+ years of experience Writing about and using SQL syntax and commands.
• Using CLI and API clients to learn about REST APIs.

Bonus points if you have

• Docsaurus experience

Return to Office Philosophy

Workplace Wednesdays - to break down silos, build relationships and improve team communication. Lunch catering / meal credits provided in the office and local socials align to Workplace Wednesdays. In general, Dremio will remain a hybrid work environment. We will not be implementing a 100% (5 days a week) return to office policy for all roles.
