Decskill, a Portugal-based IT consulting company, is seeking an experienced QA Engineer to join our testing team in Lisbon. You will design and execute automated tests for Java applications, driving quality through the SDLC.

You will collaborate with development and operations in Agile environments, creating robust test plans, executing tests, and diagnosing issues. Fluency in English and strong analytical skills are required.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in QA / Software Testing / Test Automation
• Strong hands-on experience with automated testing of Java-based applications
• Solid experience in E2E, functional, regression and integration testing
• Strong knowledge of test planning, test case design and test execution
• Proven experience in developing and maintaining E2E automated test suites
• Good programming skills in Java, with the ability to read, understand and debug Java applications
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress or equivalent
• Strong experience in API testing, preferably using Postman, REST Assured, SoapUI or similar tools
• Experience validating REST APIs, including requests, responses, status codes and payloads
• Experience with Kubernetes, particularly analysing pod logs and application diagnostics
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills, with the ability to correlate application behaviour, logs, API interactions and environments
• Experience reproducing defects, validating bug fixes and ensuring regression coverage
• Ability to document test results, defects, anomalies, reproduction steps and supporting evidence
• Experience working closely with Development teams in defect investigation and resolution
• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Experience with Git and CI/CD environments is a plus
• Experience with Docker / containerised environments is a plus
• Knowledge of SQL/database testing is a plus
• Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with international and cross-functional teams
