1GLOBAL is seeking a Staff Infrastructure Engineer to lead the architecture and long-term strategy of our private cloud and BMaaS in Lisbon. This senior role combines hands-on platform ownership with technical leadership across OpenStack, Ceph, and bare-metal automation.

You will mentor engineers, define IaC standards with Terraform/Ansible/Packer, collaborate with DevOps, Security, and SRE, and drive data center expansions across regions to deliver scalable, carrier-grade infrastructure.

Qualificações

• Minimum 8 years in infrastructure engineering.
• Deep, hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating production OpenStack clouds.
• Experience with Ceph in production, including CRUSH and OSD/MDS tuning.
• Experience with Ironic for bare-metal provisioning.
• Linux systems engineering with performance tuning.
• Strong knowledge of high-performance SDN networking (OVN/OVS, BGP/EVPN).
• Kubernetes on bare metal and OpenStack, service mesh and storage integration.
• Terraform, Ansible, and Packer in production IaC.
• Strong architectural leadership and mentoring abilities.

Responsabilidades

• Architect and evolve the private cloud across regions and data centers.
• Design, deploy, and operate large Ceph clusters at scale.
• Operate BMaaS with Ironic integration for fleet deployment.
• Define IaC standards using Terraform, Ansible, and Packer.
• Collaborate with Security/SRE to ensure reliability and compliance.
• Mentor engineers and lead architecture reviews.
