Job summary

Aubay Portugal is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join our Lisbon-based team. You will manage daily operations, tuning, and incident resolution across Oracle environments, ensuring high availability and security.

We value strong expertise in Oracle 12c/19c, RMAN, Data Guard, and OEM, plus Unix/Linux scripting and customer-focused collaboration. The role offers a hybrid work model with on-site presence several days per week.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years' experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
• Strong Oracle 12c/19c, RMAN, ASM, Data Guard, and ODA X9 expertise.
• Experience with backup/restore using Commvault preferred.
• Proficiency with OEM for monitoring and administration.

Responsibilities

• Daily operational management of Oracle databases: monitoring, tuning, incident resolution.
• Administer Oracle environments: installation, patching, backups via RMAN, Data Guard.
• Ensure security, availability, GDPR compliance and access control.
• Support database deployments, migrations, upgrades across projects.
• Document procedures and drive proactive monitoring and improvements.

Job description

What will you do?

• Ensure daily operational management of Oracle databases, covering monitoring, performance tuning, and incident resolution.
• Administer Oracle environments, including installation, patching, backups (RMAN), and Data Guard configuration.
• Guarantee database security, availability, and compliance with established standards (e.g., access control, encryption, GDPR).
• Provide comprehensive support for various projects, such as database deployments, migrations, and upgrades.
• Document and industrialize operational procedures to enhance efficiency and consistency across systems.
• Drive proactive monitoring initiatives and continuous improvement processes for critical database infrastructure.

What are we looking for?

• A minimum of 7 years of professional experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
• Strong expertise with Oracle 12c/19c, RMAN, ASM, Data Guard, and Oracle Database Appliance (ODA X9).
• Proven experience with backup and restore operations, preferably using Commvault.
• Proficiency in administering and monitoring databases using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
• Solid understanding of Unix/OEL Linux and strong scripting skills, including Powershell scripting.
• Demonstrated experience working in high-availability production database environments.
• Mandatory proficiency in English at a B2 level or higher for effective communication.
