Connect Digital in Portugal is seeking a highly skilled Senior Oracle Database Administrator to join our team and support mission-critical database environments. This role emphasizes hands-on Oracle expertise, performance tuning, and collaborative work with infra and development teams.

You will optimize production databases, implement RAC/Data Guard/RMAN HA solutions, and ensure security and compliance across platforms while working in a Lisbon-based hybrid setup.

Qualificações

  • University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a comparable technical field.
  • 5–10 years of hands-on experience with Oracle databases in production environments.
  • Proven expertise in performance tuning, compression, and resource optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with ExaCC, ZFS, and ZDLRA is a strong plus.
  • OS knowledge: Linux/Unix (primary); Windows (secondary).
  • Professional English (C1) — spoken and written; French/Dutch a plus.

Responsabilidades

  • Manage, maintain, and optimize Oracle database environments in production.
  • Implement and support high-availability and disaster recovery solutions (RAC, Data Guard, RMAN).
  • Perform advanced performance tuning, query optimization, and resource management.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards, including TDE, auditing, and authentication protocols.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application development and infrastructure initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot complex database issues and provide clear, structured communication of findings.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across database technologies and operational processes.
  • Support regulated environments and adhere to industry best practices.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Oracle Database Administrator to join our team and support mission‑critical database environments. This role is ideal for someone with deep hands‑on experience in Oracle technologies, strong performance tuning capabilities, and a structured, collaborative mindset. You will work closely with infrastructure partners, development teams, and non‑technical stakeholders to ensure stability, security, and efficiency across multiple database platforms.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a comparable technical field.
  • 5–10 years of hands‑on experience with Oracle databases in production environments.
  • Proven expertise in performance tuning, compression, and resource optimization.
  • Hands‑on experience with ExaCC, ZFS, and ZDLRA is a strong plus.
  • OS knowledge: Linux/Unix (primary); Windows (secondary).
Technical Skills
  • Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
  • SQL and PL/SQL scripting (mandatory).
  • ExaCC CPU optimization, compression techniques, query tuning, Exadata awareness.
  • Kerberos authentication and Oracle Client upgrades.
  • Knowledge of Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Azure Synapse or DB2 is a plus.
  • Tools: Oracle SQL Developer, Toad for Oracle.
  • Additional tools (plus): Jenkins, UrbanCode Deploy, Qlik Replicate, Git/Bitbucket, ServiceNow, Jira, DBeaver.
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or equivalent certification is a plus.

  • Experience in regulated environments (e.g., financial services) is a strong plus.
  • Must hold a valid work permit or EU/Schengen nationality to legally work in Portugal.
  • Lisbon‑based — hybrid working model.
  • Gross annual salary: €23,000 – €28,000, depending on experience and suitability for the role
