Job summary

KCS IT is seeking an accomplished .NET Developer with 5+ years of experience to join our hybrid team in Lisbon. You will design and implement desktop applications using WPF, MVVM, and modern .NET technologies, delivering high-performant UIs and robust backend integration.

You’ll collaborate on complex projects across front-end and back-end layers, contribute to architectural decisions, and help migrate legacy apps to current .NET platforms. Portuguese and English proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience developing applications using Microsoft .NET technologies.
• Strong and recent hands‑on experience with WPF and the MVVM pattern.
• Solid expertise in C# and modern .NET Core/.NET 8+ development.
• Strong knowledge of concurrency, multithreading, and asynchronous programming (async/await) in desktop applications.
• Ability to develop high‑performance, responsive user interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize complex desktop applications using C#, WPF, XAML, and .NET 8/9, across front‑end and back‑end layers.
• Apply the MVVM architectural pattern to deliver scalable, maintainable, and testable solutions.
• Optimize application performance by improving UI rendering, preventing memory leaks, and implementing advanced asynchronous programming techniques.
• Develop reusable Custom Controls and User Controls, while managing styles, themes, and shared XAML resources.
• Collaborate with UI/UX, QA, and development teams to deliver high‑quality user experiences and robust software solutions.
• Support the modernization and migration of legacy desktop applications (WinForms, VB.NET, legacy WPF) to modern .NET and C# technologies.
• Contribute to architectural improvements, code quality initiatives, and continuous enhancement of desktop application performance and maintainability.
