Senior Mobile Engineer – Porto, Portugal (Hybrid)

€60,000 to €65,000 per annum, Bonuses, Private Healthcare plus alot more.

We’re supporting a global tech firm with one clear goal – to build a best-in-class engineering team right here in Portugal. They’ve already got the backing, the product, and the track record – now it’s about putting the right people in place to scale their mobile offering and build something with impact.

This isn’t about plugging into a bloated team and coasting through ticket cycles. It’s about joining a small, growing mobile unit that’s critical to the future of the company’s platform strategy. You'll be one of the early engineers in Porto and will be set up to help shape not only how the mobile product evolves, but also how the team grows around it.

You’ll be hands-on with React Native, building features that enhance user experience and expert onboarding flows across a global user base. You’ll work closely with design, QA, product, and DevOps – so we’re after someone comfortable with cross-functional collaboration and who knows how to balance delivery and quality.

You won’t just be coding – you’ll be progressing.

What you’ll be doing:

• Designing and shipping mobile features in React Native, focusing on performance and reliability
• Working in a small, focused engineering squad with product managers and QAs
• Contributing to CI/CD pipelines, test coverage, and monitoring (Bitrise, GitHub Actions, Firebase)
• Taking initiative around mobile UX and security/compliance processes (think onboarding and verification flows)
• Laying the groundwork for future team leadership – if you want to grow, the path’s there

What you’ll bring:

• Strong commercial experience in React Native and mobile development across iOS and Android
• Exposure to mobile CI/CD tooling and practices (we use Bitrise, Jenkins, Expo, GitHub Actions)
• Good working knowledge of Firebase, feature flagging, analytics, and testing automation
• A pragmatic mindset – someone who knows when to challenge and when to ship
• Comfort working in Agile and collaborating with product teams
• Based in Portugal (Porto preferred) and open to hybrid working (3 days onsite weekly)
• Tooling: Expo, Redux, Firebase, Crashlytics, Bitrise, GitHub Actions, Jenkins
• Cloud: AWS (Lambda), some exposure to Contentful and Shopify integrations
