Rauva is seeking a Senior Mobile Software Engineer to own design, development, delivery, and continuous improvement of critical areas of our mobile app. You will build customer-facing banking and payment experiences using React Native, Expo, and TypeScript, integrating with backend services and external providers.

You will mentor peers, review code, and contribute to the overall mobile engineering direction while staying hands-on and product-focused.

About You:

We are looking for a Senior Mobile Software Engineer who combines strong technical expertise with product thinking and end-to-end ownership.

You have significant experience building and operating production mobile applications using React Native and TypeScript. You care about more than delivering individual features: you consider architecture, security, accessibility, performance, maintainability, observability, and the complete customer experience.

You are comfortable working in a high-paced environment with considerable autonomy and accountability. You identify problems proactively, make pragmatic technical decisions, and collaborate effectively with other departments.

You will play a senior individual-contributor role in Rauva’s Engineering Team, helping us build secure and intuitive financial experiences used by entrepreneurs and small businesses. You will also support the development of other engineers through technical guidance, thoughtful code reviews, and knowledge sharing.

What's the role:

As a Senior Mobile Software Engineer at Rauva, you will own the design, development, delivery, and continuous improvement of critical areas of our mobile application.

You will build customer-facing banking and payment experiences using React Native, Expo, and TypeScript, integrating them with Rauva’s backend services and external financial providers. These experiences must remain reliable and easy to use while handling sensitive data and complex financial workflows.

On any given day, you may be designing a new payment journey, improving application architecture, investigating production performance, reviewing a pull request, collaborating with Product and Design, or helping the squad safely release a new capability.

You will influence Rauva’s mobile engineering direction while remaining hands-on and close to the product.

Your Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain high-quality mobile features using React Native, Expo, and TypeScript.
• Own features throughout their lifecycle, from technical design and implementation to release, monitoring, and improvement.
• Develop secure and reliable banking and payment experiences, protecting customer and financial data.
• Integrate the mobile application with Rauva’s backend services, APIs, and third-party providers.
• Improve the application’s architecture, performance, stability, accessibility, and maintainability.
• Maintain strong automated testing, monitoring, CI/CD, and release practices for iOS and Android.
• Work closely with other departments to deliver intuitive customer experiences.
• Investigate production issues and contribute to effective incident resolution and prevention.
• Participate in technical decisions, code reviews, and continuous improvements to mobile engineering practices.
• Support other engineers through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and constructive feedback.

What’s your ideal background?

• At least 4 years of experience in mobile app development using React Native and TypeScript.
• Proven experience with Expo in building scalable and performant mobile applications.
• Strong understanding of mobile app design principles, including responsive layouts and UX best practices.
• Familiarity with secure coding practices for payments and financial applications. Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Detox) to ensure the delivery of high-quality features.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps is a plus.
• Experience working with RESTful APIs and GraphQL.
• Familiarity with mobile app performance optimization and debugging tools.
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
