Jobgether partners with a client in Portugal seeking a senior Linux Platform Engineer to own enterprise Linux platforms across on‑prem and cloud. You will shape platform strategy, architecture, automation, security, reliability, and lifecycle management at scale.

You will drive Infrastructure as Code, automation, observability, and DevOps, working across infrastructure, cloud, security, application, database, network, and storage teams, mentoring others and delivering end-to-end initiatives.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline.
• 7–10+ years of progressive Linux platform engineering in enterprise environments.
• Deep expertise in enterprise Linux distributions (SUSE/RHEL) across large-scale deployments.
• Bash and Python scripting, Perl is a plus.
• Automation and IaC with Ansible, Terraform, Puppet.
• VMware vSphere or equivalent virtualization experience.
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NTP, VPN.
• Storage: SAN/NAS/RAID integration.
• Backup/recovery: Veeam or Rubrik.
• RPM packaging and Linux distro packaging.
• Monitoring/observability: Datadog, Dynatrace, Nagios, SolarWinds.
• Linux security hardening, patching, compliance.
• Strong ownership and communication.
• RHCE / LPIC-3 desirable.
• Hybrid/public cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) advantageous.
• Containers: Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift beneficial.
• SRE experience a plus.
• Oracle RAC or large-scale enterprise apps experience advantageous.
• Storage array configuration and tuning desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Own the enterprise Linux platform roadmap and lifecycle management.
• Define engineering standards and platform build patterns across Linux environments.
• Design and implement scalable Linux solutions across on‑prem and cloud.
• Act as technical authority for compute, virtualization, storage, and core Linux services.
• Lead architecture discussions and design reviews for Linux platforms.
• Drive automation and IaC adoption using Ansible, Terraform, Bash, Python.
• Develop reusable automation frameworks and self-service platform modules.
• Champion platform engineering and DevOps practices across the org.
• Own platform availability, performance, capacity, resiliency, SLAs.
• Establish monitoring/logging/observability standards (Datadog, Dynatrace).
• Lead complex infrastructure incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
• Ensure backup/recovery and disaster recovery strategies.
• Embed security-by-design principles in Linux architecture.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Mentor engineers and raise platform engineering maturity.
• Promote automation and operational excellence.
