Job summary

AgileEngine, LLC. in Portugal is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to build scalable, secure server-side solutions for a mission-critical SaaS platform, delivering robust microservices and dependable APIs.

You will collaborate with design and product teams to understand requirements, plan sprints, estimate timelines, review code, and contribute to automated build and deployment processes that improve efficiency and quality.

Qualifications

5+ years of SaaS experience.
High level of proficiency in Java and SQL.
Knowledge of or prior experience with microservices architecture.
DevOps mindset of automation and continuous improvement.
Good understanding of observability and familiarity with strong CI/CD practices.
A proven ability to meet deadlines, motivate others, and consistently produce high-quality results.
Upper-intermediate or higher English proficiency.

Responsibilities

Build a cleanly designed, reusable client integration system adhering to secure cloud software best practices, from start to finish.
Collaborate with design and product teams to understand requirements, create estimates, plan sprints, and meet delivery timelines.
Plan and accurately estimate construction and delivery timelines.
Contribute to technical documentation and automated build and deployment processes designed to increase engineer efficiency.
Review code submitted by other software engineers and submit your own code for review as part of the pull-request deployment process.
