Job summary

Claranet in Lisbon is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join a client project, delivering backend Java 21 services with modern Spring technologies to build scalable microservices in a banking-related environment.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements, design architectures, implement reactive services with Spring WebFlux and Pulsar, and ensure observability via OpenTelemetry, Grafana and Prometheus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development and design experience.
• Experience translating requirements into technical designs.
• Experience with Java 21 and Spring technologies.
• Experience with microservices architectures and MongoDB.
• Familiarity with observability/monitoring tools (OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Prometheus).
• Excellent communication and collaboration with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in functional design and architecture aligning with business needs.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize backend applications using Java 21 and Spring.
• Design and implement scalable microservices-based solutions.
• Develop reactive applications using Spring WebFlux and integrate messaging with Spring Pulsar.
• Build data access layers using Spring Data MongoDB and MongoDB.
• Implement and monitor observability using OpenTelemetry, Grafana, and Prometheus.
• Collaborate with teams to deliver high-quality software in banking sector.
