Job summary

Fortil in Portugal is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join a collaborative software engineering environment and contribute to enterprise applications.

You will work with Java 21, EJB, JPA/Hibernate and REST services within a monolithic architecture, participating across the full software development lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing, continuous integration and deployment. Strong English and problem-solving skills are required.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of professional Java development with a university degree.
• At least 11 years of professional Java development for candidates without a university degree.
• Professional experience with Java 21.
• Solid experience with EJB.
• Experience with JPA and Hibernate.
• Experience designing, developing or integrating REST services.
• Good knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
• Experience developing unit tests.
• Experience with CI/CD processes and tools.
• Experience with code quality and static analysis tools such as SonarQube.
• Experience participating in code reviews through Pull Requests or Merge Requests.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
