HumanIT Digital Consulting is seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer to join the Lisbon tech hub. You will work on backend systems in a master data management domain, using Spring Boot on Kubernetes within an Agile/Scrum team.

Location is Lisbon with a hybrid model (1 day/week in the office). English fluency is required, German is a plus, and occasional travel may be involved for onboarding in Switzerland.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of hands-on Java experience in production environments.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and Spring Cloud Data Flow.
• Experience with REST APIs and Apache Kafka for event-driven integration.
• Database modelling and SQL queries for high-consistency data environments.
• Ability to define and design APIs and data models aligned with modern architecture standards.
• Experience writing unit tests and contributing to team-wide quality standards.
• Background in banking, financial services, or similarly regulated environments.
• Collaborative, hands-on mentality with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Comfortable and energised working within an Agile/Scrum team.
• Good analytical and communication skills.
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
• English B2 or above — oral and written.
• Based in Portugal, available for hybrid work in Lisbon, 1 day/week.
• Willingness to travel occasionally (including potential onboarding in Switzerland).

Responsabilidades

PROJECT & CONTEXT

You'll be responsible for backend applications within a master data management domain, working in a modern Spring Boot stack deployed on Kubernetes. The role covers the full engineering lifecycle — from feasibility analysis and API/data model design through implementation, unit testing, and quality assurance — in close collaboration with a cross-functional Scrum team. Customer and master data demand the highest standards of consistency and correctness, making architectural rigour and attention to detail essential.

Tools: IntelliJ, GitLab, Confluence, Jira, ArgoCD, Docker

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 5+ years of hands-on Java experience in production enterprise environments

Compensation: €50.000 to €65.000/year, depending on experience and seniority level.
