Are you an experienced Integration Architect passionate about designing scalable solutions, modernizing complex systems, and connecting technologies across enterprise environments?
We're looking for a Senior Integration Architect to join an international technology environment, working in a hybrid model.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who combines strong expertise in software architecture, microservices, API integration, and event-driven systems with a collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills.
You'll play a key role in defining integration strategies, modernizing legacy systems, and ensuring that technical solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Design Integration Architectures: Define and document scalable integration solutions, including logical and physical architectures, data flow diagrams, API contracts, and sequence diagrams.
- Drive Architecture Modernization: Analyze existing systems, perform reverse engineering of legacy applications, and identify dependencies, integration flows, and modernization opportunities.
- Define Technical Standards: Establish API versioning strategies, standardized data models (JSON Schema, Avro), messaging patterns, and error-handling mechanisms, including retry policies and Dead Letter Queues (DLQ).
- Develop Event-Driven Solutions: Design and structure event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka, ensuring reliable communication between distributed systems.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with product, engineering, security, and business stakeholders to design solutions that meet both technical and business requirements.
- Ensure Security & Governance: Promote architectural best practices, conduct technical design reviews, and ensure compliance with security, privacy, and integration standards.
- Improve Observability: Support monitoring and troubleshooting strategies using Datadog, including application performance monitoring, distributed tracing, and log analysis.
- Mentor & Share Knowledge: Support engineering teams through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and the adoption of architecture best practices.
What We're Looking For:
- Strong experience designing modular architectures, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Solid understanding of software architecture principles, integration patterns, and system design.
- Hands-on experience defining and documenting REST APIs using Swagger / OpenAPI Specification.
- Proven ability to perform reverse engineering of complex legacy systems, identifying dependencies, business rules, and integration flows.
- Strong knowledge of Apache Kafka, including topic design, event modeling, and event-driven architecture.
- Experience defining API contracts, data models, and integration standards.
Cloud & Observability
- Working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP), particularly:
- BigQuery: Analytical data processing and querying.
- Cloud Storage: Secure object storage and data management.
- IAM: Identity, access policies, roles, and permissions.
- Experience with Datadog for monitoring, application performance management (APM), distributed tracing, and log management.
Security & Access Management
- Solid understanding of API security and authentication standards, including OAuth2, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and API Keys.
- Experience with HashiCorp Vault for secrets management, credential protection, and rotation.
- Awareness of security, privacy, and governance best practices in enterprise integration environments.
Ways of Working
- Experience working in Agile environments, particularly Scrum and Kanban.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to architectural decisions.
What Will Make You Stand Out:
Beyond technical expertise, we're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and making complex technology easier to understand.
- Teamwork & Collaboration: A collaborative mindset, empathy, and willingness to support colleagues and share knowledge.
- Holistic Thinking: Ability to understand the broader technology ecosystem and anticipate the impact of architectural decisions across interconnected systems.
- Communication Skills: Confidence translating business requirements into technical solutions and explaining architectural trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to align expectations, negotiate priorities, and build consensus between product, engineering, and security teams.
- Technical Leadership: A constructive approach to architectural discussions, mentoring, and continuous improvement.
- A hybrid working model, combining flexibility with opportunities for face-to-face collaboration.
- The opportunity to work in an international, multidisciplinary technology environment.
- Involvement in challenging integration and modernization initiatives.
- The chance to influence architectural decisions and contribute to technical standards.
- A collaborative culture that values knowledge sharing, teamwork, and continuous learning.
If you're passionate about integration architecture, microservices, event-driven systems, and cloud technologies, and enjoy collaborating with teams to solve complex technical challenges, we'd love to hear from you!
