Job summary

UJET is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Fullstack) to join our Porto team. You will own end-to-end epics across frontend and backend, mentor junior engineers, and leverage AI coding tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining code quality.

The role requires at least 5+ years of experience in software development, strong knowledge of distributed systems, and a 2-days-per-week in-office presence in Porto, Portugal.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development with fullstack experience and ownership of complex epics or features.
• Strong knowledge of modern distributed computing.
• Experience with databases (MySQL/NoSQL) and caching (Redis).
• Proficiency with Git, Docker, CI/CD and 12-factor app principles.
• Experience in a microservice architecture and backend/frontend languages (Java/Go/Ruby/Python + React/Angular).
• Proactive mentoring of junior engineers and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own epics and deliver features across frontend and backend with high quality and performance.
• Plan timelines and resources, flag risks early.
• Break epics into tickets and coordinate with the team.
• Serve as SME for domains and mentor L1/L2 engineers.
• Design and build scalable fullstack features and services.
• Write and review design docs, data models, and APIs.
