Your Role

As a Senior Fullstack Developer for HubSpot CMS based in Lisbon, you become the delivery anchor of our Lisbon hub. You lead end-to-end delivery on 4 or more enterprise HubSpot CMS programs per year, own the code review bar for the Lisbon engineering team, and mentor our Junior engineers into full client‑project independence. In your first 12 months, you ship 4 or more enterprise programs at Director sign‑off quality and bring the Lisbon Juniors up to a level where they can own projects independently within their first 6 months on the team.

We are hiring this role because our Lisbon hub scales to 2 or 3 Junior engineers in 2026, and we need a senior on the ground who can review code, set architectural direction, and mentor day to day without pulling our Director of Engineering out of strategic work. Enterprise HubSpot CMS programs increasingly include serverless functions, third‑party integrations, and migrations that require senior judgment. You report directly to Director Engineering & Technology Michael Huber and work closely with the DACH consulting team. Daily working language is English.

Your Responsibilities

• Program Delivery. You lead end-to-end delivery on 4 or more enterprise HubSpot CMS programs per year, from scoping through launch, at Director sign‑off quality.

• Code Review Bar. You review 100% of Lisbon engineering PRs as first‑line reviewer with average turnaround under 24 hours.

• Engineering Standards. You own the Lisbon HubSpot CMS standards: coding conventions, testing approach, deployment playbook, module library guidelines.

• Mentoring. You develop Junior engineers to full client‑project independence within their own 6‑month horizon.

• Client Satisfaction. You keep average client CSAT at 8.5 or higher across all owned programs.

• Reusable Integrations. You architect at least 2 complex HubSpot integrations (serverless plus third‑party API plus data sync) that become reusable reference patterns for Thorit.

• Scoping Authority. You represent engineering in client‑facing scoping conversations alongside the Senior Business Consultant.

Your Profile

• 5 to 8+ years of experience as a Frontend or Fullstack Developer, with substantial time spent on HubSpot CMS Hub. You have personally built and launched 5 or more custom HubSpot CMS Hub websites.

• Fluent in HubL: custom modules, themes, content staging, multi-language, memberships. HubSpot CMS for Developers certification or equivalent shipped portfolio.

• Serverless and integration depth: you have built HubSpot serverless functions for form processing, third‑party API integration, and dynamic content. You understand auth patterns, error handling, webhooks, idempotency.

• Solid modern frontend engineering: HTML5, modern CSS (Grid, Flexbox, container queries), JavaScript and TypeScript. Build tooling (Vite, esbuild) and modern CSS workflows are second nature.

• Performance- and accessibility‑first approach: you ship sites that score Lighthouse 90 or higher without after‑the‑fact tuning, and build to WCAG 2.1 AA from the start.

• Proven code review and mentoring experience: you have been the primary code reviewer for at least one junior engineer. You can explain why a piece of code is wrong, not just that it is.

• Experience in design‑to‑code handoff with UI/UX designers in Figma.

• Native or near‑native English for daily collaboration with the DACH team. Portuguese for the local context.

• Availability for at least 2 days per week at our Lisbon office.

• You treat the launched site as your responsibility, not the PM's. Cross‑browser testing and fixing broken things happens without being asked.

• You can run a working session with a client product owner or marketing manager, demo progress, and explain technical trade‑offs in non‑technical language.

• Your code review posture is not "pass/fail" but coaching. You write review comments the author can grow from.

• You push back constructively on design decisions when they would tank performance or break accessibility. You can explain it to the designer without making it confrontational.

• You want to stay in deep engineering long‑term. Your next step is Tech Lead or Principal Engineer, not Engineering Manager or Product.
